The truth or the lie? The truth involves many qualities and defects. What is important to me is that no one has the truth. My truth is not the truth. It would be very pretentious to claim that. However, the truth calls for working on oneself with great nobility and will, so as to really think what I think. I mean what I say, and I do what I think. Conversely, some people do not always say what they think and do not always say what they do. This is the case of liars, rogues, traitors who are guided by malevolence .
In the same deception, we have the sophist who sets up a fallacious reasoning, which seems to us a priori correct. The most concrete example is to say that the earth is flat, because in our vision, I perceive it as such. Some people have the art and the way of leading us to this type of reasoning. Naivety and lack of knowledge of the field can lead us to make mistakes. So how can you trust?Trust is acquired through long work between the interlocutors. We establish trust over several years and we break it in a few seconds. Whether in love, friendship or in other areas, truth, authenticity are drivers of our exchanges.
Are all truths good to say? To this, 2 visions oppose each other. The first consists of saying that all truths are good to say, even hurtful ones, because it is the truth and we must face it in the face. The other vision would consist of saying that we should not say everything because certain truths are hurtful. So, we favor lying, intellectual dishonesty. What is the most disturbing? To be seen as the bad guy by telling the truth or to appear nice by lying? Finally, it is a dilemma where everyone can respond according to their free will. As far as I’m concerned, the pure truth is being authentic and sincere with yourself.
Is there a difference between pretext and reason? The truth is reasonable. It is not about blaming the other. It is showing humility and modesty. The cheater, the liar is often accusatory. The pretext, for its part, is not reasonable. It seeks convoluted justifications to justify the unjustifiable.
