“Travel is a return to basics.”
The name of this card is called “l’essentiel” in French. It can be translated as “the essential” in English. If you notice any translation errors in this article, please let us know for our entire community. You can leave your comment at the bottom of this page.
The essential takes up an arcana known from the Tarot of Marseilles, which is the arcana of the World. In the Tarot de Marseille, the world is blocked between the 4 gospels represented by the bull, the eagle, the angel and the lion. These same animals have an older meaning which represent the constellations in our universe and the place of our planet in the celestial world. In the oracle of Marseilles, the main thing is a map that connects the celestial world to the material world, our world. We find there the 4 alchemical symbols, namely the 4 elements, namely earth, air, water and fire, as well as the ether symbolized by the character, which is our 5th element. The central character holds a plumb line that tells us the positioning towards our mind.
The card of the essential, which can also be understood by “the essence of the sky”, indicates a verticality to us, a relationship with ourselves and the world of the au -beyond. When I say beyond, it is beyond ourselves, a universe without limits. This arcana synthesizes our “horizontal” material world and the “vertical” spiritual world. The horizontal and the vertical constitute a plane, and by adding a little depth to it, we are in a another dimension. If space and time, we can ultimately matter, I will end on 3 dimensions that animate our world in a deeper way, energy, information and vibration. These three elements animate our dimensions and vibrate all the strings of our universe or multiverse, and in our relationship to others. To go further, I invite you to reflect on certain unanswered questions, such as quantum entanglement and the phenomenon of synchronicity. We are all connected.
